When do I need a HERS test?
HERS or ECC verification is commonly required when the permitted project includes measures that call for field verification. Send us the project address, permit year and available CF1R or plans and we can review what the project requires.
What do I need to provide before the test?
Start with the project address, permit year, contact information and any available CF1R, plans or permit documents. For multi-system projects, it also helps to identify how many indoor and outdoor units serve each dwelling or area.
How long does the testing take?
It depends on the required measures, number of systems and site readiness. A straightforward single-system verification may be relatively quick, while projects with multiple systems or several required tests take longer.
Do you test exhaust fans?
When mechanical ventilation or exhaust verification is required by the project documents, we can review the applicable scope and determine what field verification is needed.
Do you verify refrigerant charge?
Yes, when refrigerant charge verification is a required HERS/ECC measure for the installed system and project. The system must be installed, powered and operating under suitable test conditions.
